8 Favorite Boss Babe Quotes

2 / 1 / 192 / 1 / 19

Hey, boo!

So you want to be a boss babe, huh? I’m right there with you and let me tell you from my own personal experience, it takes motivation and encouragement EVERY SINGLE DAY. No joke. I literally sit and talk to myself for 10 minutes every morning, I repeat quotes and positive affirmations that make me feel good. If that doesn’t work, I scroll through Instagram or Pinterest and get inspired by the World of Boss Babes.

I hope that I am able to inspire you through this post. Just to know that someone is rooting for you is ENOUGH. You ARE enough. You ARE Amazing. And you are going to do things unimaginable in your life right now. Remind yourself how resilient, strong and determined you are EVERYDAY.

Women are naturally caretakers and often forget about themselves, well, I am here to remind you that YOU MATTER MOST. You can’t take on the world if your armor isn’t in tact.

8 Favorite Boss Babe Quotes to Encourage and Inspire

These are 8 quotes that you can feel free to use to help inspire you!

  1. “I make money moves.” Cardi B may not appeal to everyone but when it comes to money, I think we can all come to an agreement that more is more.

2. Girl, you ALREADY have what it takes. Need I remind you? You are the one that put this shit together and got this plan into action. Don’t stop now.

3. You change the world by being YOURSELF. All it takes is a little bit of YOU, honey. Be the change that you want to see, be original and smile when you do it.

4. Fall in love with becoming the BEST version of YOURSELF. It’s so important to know your worth and to act like you know. Don’t downplay yourself ever.

5. New Beginnings. Everyday, every morning, at any minute – you can decide to start a new beginning. The choice to progress is completely up to you. You can sit there in bed and play the comparison game, or you can get up and go after the life that you want. It’s completely up to you.

6. Be your own Girl Crush. I know I’m not the only woman out here cheering for the next chick. I love seeing girls smile. Got your body done? Girl, yes, let’s see it. Makeup popping today? Share it, girl – I am going to LIKE that picture for sure. But don’t forget to root for yourself! I like all my own shit and will continue to do so. I share all my content across all my channels, I don’t care who’s sick of seeing, I’m NOT.

7. GET OVER IT. So you had a slow week, took a day off? Feel like you missed out on soooo much? I’m here to let you know that you WERE missed and didn’t miss out on anything. #FOMO can get the best of us at times, but that doesn’t mean that you give up. You have to keep pushing yourself to go on and do more.

8. The World Needs What You Got. You have something to offer the world that the word needs. You are YOU and that makes you different. Don’t ever feel like you aren’t enough, because you’d be completely wrong. Someone out in the world needs to hear what you have to say.

Running a Business & Dealing with Depression

1 / 7 / 19

Being diagnosed with Bipolar 1 Disorder when I was only 22 is not always the story I like to start with. I have been treated for the past 6 years and it has not been an easy road for me. Although medicated, I still go through episodes of manic depression and invincible highs. I have an amazing psychiatrist who helps me through my battle and counseling has also been quite beneficial for me. I am saddened when I hear of others refusing treatment or not wanting to be considered “crazy” or judged by their peers. Being honest with myself and getting treatment saved my life. Luckily, I have a family who is very understanding and there for me whenever I need them and a husband who has struggled to deal with me at times, but never leaves my side.

My blog and my online businesses have been an outlet for me. I can put my creativeness to work and leave the worrying thoughts, that like to consume me at times, to rest. I have spoken with others who suffer from depression and anxiety and they always ask how I handle the pressures of running a business, keeping up with family life and blogging, without losing my shit. The honest truth, I don’t. I lose my shit at least once a week, but nowadays I handle it differently. When I need to vent, I go to my computer and I create content. You have to direct your focus to something positive.

You have to learn what triggers these feelings. For myself, too much socialization sends me into a spiral. I consider myself social, but only to an extent. Unfortunately, I have a habit of overextending myself and it typically never ends well. I have learned when to let go and accepted the fact that I cannot please everyone. You have to understand, not everyone will like you or have the same opinion as you or be understanding of your life – LET GO. It is so important to notice when something is not working for your sanity! Do not force relationships or friendships because you feel like you have to, let go.

Nurture relationships and friendships that make you feel good about yourself. Relationships that motivate you, support you and inspire you to do better, are the only relationships that deserve your energy. Surround yourself with positive energy, manifest happiness in your own life, build an aura that you want to live in. Once something disrupts my zen, I am quick to cut it from my life.

When you run a business, you have to work with people. There is no way around it. You have to be accepting of feedback and content with knowing that your brand may not appeal to everyone, but honey – EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT. Continue to talk to your audience and supporters that believe in you. Find a reason to be grateful daily, I use the Finding Gratitude: Guided Journal whenever I begin to feel down. Sometimes you have to be strong enough to get yourself back on track.

Always strive to learn more, especially through reading. Some of my favorite books, that I have helped me in a personal and business perspective are The Big Leap By Gay Hendricks, Unf*ck Yourself By Gary John Bishop, and Judgement Detox By Gabrielle Bernstein. Gabrielle Bernstein has helped me through some dark times, especially with her books, May Cause Miracles and The Universe Has Your Back. I own all three and have listened or read them several times. Reading has been so beneficial to my life and dramatically changed the way I see things, my way of thinking, and my openness to view things from all angles before placing judgment.

Work smarter not harder, learn when to hire help. You cannot do it alone, especially as your business grows. You will lose your shit and potentially go on a hiatus where you prefer not to be found. Trust me, I have done it. There are so many content creators available online, so many resources are available to help you grow your business. Social media is not for everyone, hire a social media manager if it’s not your thing. They can take the stress off your shoulders and ease your mind.

I love batch posting. I take a single day and create content for the week or month depending on how much time I have. Plan out your content and save yourself the troubles of worrying later. I love brainstorming with my Happy Planner and using those ideas to create my first draft. I use the PLANN app and Planoly app to automate my posts. This is awesome, that way if you need to meditate or rest your mind throughout the week, you’re still putting out amazing content that you already prepared. Win, win!

At the end of the day, YOU GOT THIS. You don’t need me or anyone else for that matter to remind you that YOU ARE AMAZING. You work your ass off and it does not go unnoticed. You seek happiness and not approval. This is your life and you are in control of the things that happen to you. Hold yourself accountable and learn from your mistakes. Every opportunity is a chance to grow, a chance to learn, a chance to inspire someone who almost lost hope. Keep going, YOU GOT YOU, boo!

How To: Marketing Your Business

1 / 27 / 191 / 27 / 19

Marketing your business has gotten to an all-time high, particularly when you have a small business. Marketing your small business may not have the perks that comes with marketing for huge corporations. More often than not, you are your own marketer. When you are on a shoestring budget and you just have to get your products or services out there to the world, how do you get shit done, boss babe?

Craft an elevator pitch: That looks simple right? It may be to you but a lot of business owners do not know how effective an elevator pitch can be. It can serve to tell people everything your brand or business stands for in as little time as possible. The first resource you need therefore is an analytical mind; you need to analyze what to say to people.

Not familiar with exactly what an elevator pitch is? Let me give you the run down. If you were caught in an elevatory for 30 seconds to one minute with the contact of your dreams, how would you sell them on your business? Hurry, because this is your one opportunity and if you miss it, it could result in a loss for your own company!

Leverage your community: When it comes to marketing efforts, a lot of entrepreneurs are quick to open up online stores and expect traffic in millions. Often, it doesn’t happen that way and they regret it. Why not start small and think of leveraging your community in a bid to get words out on the street about what you do. You could leverage your community using diverse innovative means; you could sponsor a league game or organize a charity walk. Whatever suits your business.

I believe people overlook their community, with the thought of champagne dreams, but honey, you have to be realistic. This journey is not always sunshines and rainbows, most of us have to start at the bottom and work our way to the top. Your community, people who know you, friends who have followed your journey on social media, these can be the one you connect with first. Host a giveaway on Facebook live, create a Free Webinar, host an event, there are a plethora of things available to you.

Collaboration and synergy: A small business can only do so much, what if you had five small businesses come together in a non-competitive and synergized way? What if these businesses took turns to advertise each other? The ripple effect would be much greater and you would have achieved more. A resource that is often overlooked in marketing is other small businesses.

You all know that I strongly encourage Collaboration over Competition. Want to know why? Because there is so much truth to it? The power of 5 small business working together outnumbers only one trying to do it on their own. So, you know 5 different women who run boutiques? Why not create a community pop up shop, host an empowerment event that provides value to the clients, there is so much that you can come together and accomplish.

Create a budget to send out items for PR: As much as you can afford and that will not bring the wheels of industry grinding to a halt, do give out your product. If you want people to experience the magic in your product or to see the speed of your service. Why not allow them experience it for free first, chances are, they will want more of it. You have successfully leveraged on the insatiable nature of the fellow man to market your business.

Even if you cannot just give items out, give away a free product with a purchase, or provide a free product and charge only shipping. There are so many alternatives to give away free products without losing money.

Know women that you have supported in the past? Inform them about your business, set up an affiliate program so they can refer your products and earn money too!

Utilize social media: By all means do. Everyone is on social media today and it is the most important resource that you can leverage on in a bid to market your business. You are not alone, there are millions of other small businesses looking for customers on social media. This is exactly why you need to be creative with your usage of social media and ensuring better customer conversion.

Be sure to have a call to action and present yourself as an expert. Also, constantly be a voice for your brand. If you have jewelry, wear your jewelry, you make cosmetics, then I better always see you with your cosmetics on! You, yourself, are a walking advertisement for your brand. Your social media should portray that as well.

Ask for referrals: Never be shy to leverage on your customer strength to bring in new customers. Tell your clients and customers to tell others about you, it is not exploitation. In no time, you will have a formidable army of PR consisting mainly of your customers.

Provide an incentive for a referral, maybe 10% off their purchase. It does not have to be anything huge, but just a sign of appreciation.

Marketing your business can be a pretty tough job, when you know the resources to leverage on it gets easier. Using the resources right produces the right results.

5 Ways to Monetize Your Blog

1 / 16 / 191 / 16 / 19

Whether your blog started as a hobby or business, there is no problem with making a little passive income on the side from it. You may have decided that you do not want to monetize your blog and that is completely okay too! But if you are interested in making money from your blog, passive or full time, you’re in the right place.

The great part of starting a blog as a business is there is little startup cost, especially if you use SiteGround to host your blog! Less than $5 a month, paid annually.

5 Ways to Monetize Your Blog

Let’s talk about my 5 favorite ways of earning income from my blog. These are my favorites, not only because they make me money, but it’s simple. It takes a little time and effort from you and you can get started today.

  1. Affiliate Marketing – Sign up for affiliate products and services with brands and businesses that you love. Be sure to check out your favorite teaching blogs that offer courses, chances are, they offer a commission to bring them business. Amazon is a great one to check out because of the vast amount of products they offer. Sign up today!
  2. Create a Resources Page – This is a simple way for you to bring all your affiliate links, top-earning posts, and your own services/products together. Obviously you don’t want to be a pushy salesperson on every article, make it simple by creating a Resources Page that your readers can readily and easily access.
  3. Offer a Product and/or Service – Create a course. Write an e-book. Create a template. Offer a service. This is a great way to earn income as you work on your blog. Overnight success is possibly with the maximum amount of caffeine and super open schedule, but not super likely. You can join the Fiverr community and work as a virtual assistant, freelance writer, content creator, proofreader – the list goes on!
  4. Sponsored Posts – Create a pitch or media kit and reach out to various brands and other blog sites for sponsorships. You may start out small, but that is okay, get your name out there into the blogging world. Check out Bloglovin’ or Izea are great for finding Sponsorships!
  5. Legitimize Your Blog – You need site hosting and your own domain. A free blog will not earn your any money regardless of how many links and ads you put there, you don’t own that domain so you cannot make any money from it. I personally love Siteground for hosting my blog and you can easily create a WordPress site from it. And, it’s less than $5.00 a month.

I challenge you to apply at least one of these to your blog this week and see how it goes. Now, please don’t expect to be a millionaire the next morning, it takes time. You have to build trust with your readers and show them that you are the expert. Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme, but it can be very lucrative if you are dedicated.

Still have questions? Leave me a comment below and let’s discuss!

Also, feel free to reach out to me on social media, I love engaging with you all.

My 5 Minute Morning Ritual to Deal with Depression and Anxiety

1 / 13 / 19

First way to figure out how to stay sane? Admit that you’re slightly insane!

I mean think about it, instead of taking the cookie cutter route and applying for a new job like everyone else, you’re on a mission to start your own business. On top of starting a profitable business or blog, conducting research, being a social being, and working a “real life” job, you’re expected to act “civilized” and not go apeshit.

I am here to let you know, you are not alone. So many of us endure the struggles of depression and anxiety and still have to go on with life as if all is well. I do this everyday. There are times where nowhere feels better than my bed. I’m in my head, pushing myself to get up, be active, write a blog, go to work, but still, NOTHING HAPPENS. My body lay lifeless and a deep sadness takes over that nearly bring tears to my eyes, but life goes on and we are expected to just get over it.

My 5 Minute Morning Ritual to Remove Feelings of Depression and Anxiety

Fret no more, I am here to help. I am going to share my 5 minute ritual that I do everyday to bring myself out of these instances of sadness.

  1. Remind yourself that these moments are only “instances”. This moment is only temporary. This instance will pass. You are more than this moment. You are made for greatness and this instance will not prevent you from doing so.
  2. Read. I take a few minutes to read a passage from something that inspires me or I simply play my favorite audiobook on Audible. Use the link below to start your Free Trial. You can read a post from one of your favorite bloggers or whatever brings positivity and peace to your mind. I’ve listed some of my favorite reads below for you to check out!
  3. Meditate. Take a few moments to remind yourself of who you are. Recite positive affirmations that prompt you to feel superior. Inhale good and exhale any feelings of negativity, hopelessness or gloom. What you speak into the Universe is what the Universe brings back around to you!

I know, these seem so obvious, but I urge you to try. Trust me, I was never a believer of meditating or positive affirmations. If you had come to me years ago with this, I would have laughed you away. You have to stop and think, there is a huge market for this type of thing and there has to be a reason why.

Before I say goodbye for now, I want to just remind you to take care of yourself. Your self love and care is so vital to your mental health. Do not spread yourself so thin that you do not have the energy to accomplish your own goals and work towards your own dreams. Your future is going to be greater than your past. I’m rooting for you, babe!

A Letter to My Younger Self

1 / 10 / 191 / 10 / 19

A Letter to My Younger Self

Your morals stayed golden,

Your standards were raised.

The ones who doubted you,

Are showing you praise.

Karma came back,

Returned every blessing,

Love, family, and happiness

No wrong doings or envy.

One day you’ll understand

The struggle you went through.

The people who lost you,

Now wish they had kept you.

Your smile is priceless,

Your conversations touch hearts

You’ll make such a difference

You just have to start.

Whether it’s now or later

There’s no need to rush.

Just let people gossip,

They aren’t saying much.

Keep your mind focused

Don’t get too off task

If you ever need help,

Don’t be stubborn, just ask.

You’re made to do amazing things,

Trust me I know.

Just have good intentions,

Wherever you go.

I’m rooting for you, doll.

I know you’ll be fine.

Just stay in the moment,

And please take your time.

Love,

You
